Top Summer Music Festivals

If you’re like us, you’re sick of the cold weather and already looking forward to summer and all that it brings with it: beach trips, barbecues and, of course, music festivals.

If you haven’t already bought your tickets, here’s a shortlist of some of the big music festivals this summer:

Bonnaroo – Manchester, TN

Perhaps the most hardcore of the festivals, Bonnaroo is a four-day campfest in the unforgiving heat and humidity of summertime Tennessee. The impressive lineup keeps fans coming back, though. This year they’ve got Kanye West, Lauryn Hill, Skrillex, Frank Ocean, The Avett Brothers, Jack White, Elton John, Lionel Richie, The Flaming Lips, and the Arctic Monkeys.

Lollapollooza – Chicago, IL

Lollapalooza usually features one of the top lineups of the year, and this year’s no exception. Headlining the festival is Eminem, Lorde, Foster the People, Arctic Monkeys, OutKast, Kings of Leon and The Avett Brothers. For rap fans, this may be the best option for the year. And, it’s the only festival on our list that’s in a major city.

Coachella – Indio, CA

Always delivering a solid lineup, Coachella takes place April 11-13 this year in the same desert location as always. With OutKast reuniting for the first time in years, and a who’s who of top rock bands, Coachella offers a lot this year.

Some of the top acts at Coachella this year are OutKast, Arcade Fire, Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, Skrillex, and Beck.

Counterpoint – Kingston Downs, GA

The Counterpoint festival in Kingston Downs, GA is only in its second year, but its lineup makes it one of the best electronic music festivals around. The lineup for this year includes OutKast, Pretty Lights, Foster the People, J. Cole, Major Lazer, Krewella and Janelle Monae.

Beale Street Music Festival – Memphis, TN

If you like a variety of music, Beale Street Music Festival consistently delivers one of the most eclectic lineups around. And, it’s in Memphis’ legendary music district with lots of barbecue. Has Kid Rock, Alabama Shakes, Buddy Guy and Bone Thugz-N-Harmony are among the numerous artists performing this year. For an all around cultural experience, this is likely your best bet.
